Elle Belle UK is a new women’s health supplements company stocking a range of products for worldwide delivery.
The web site is a Zen Cart e-commerce solution making use of a number Zen Cart key features including new and featured product pages, customer product reviews and the all important shopping cart check out with secure payment gateway. All of this is controlled through an administration panel which allows for easy management of products and customer accounts.
There are also a number of additional features not part of Zen Cart including a quick search box allowing for easy navigation around the site, a languages box, which uses Google Translate to translate the site into various languages and a SlideDeck on the home page adding extra impact for first time visitors.
Over the next few weeks the following ads will be appearing on Facebook to help launch the Elle Belle UK brand.

Over the last couple of months I have been assisting with the development of a Zen Cart e-commerce solution for The Edinburgh Wedding Company. The client, having gone with a large web design company was having difficulties liaising with the team of developers in India to whom the work had been outsourced. I was hired to assist with the final stages of the web site including tidying up the product descriptions, adding attributes for various products and assisting with some minor graphical changes.
The site is now online and can be found at www.edinburghweddingcompany.com. Since the site has gone live I have also assisted with a number of SEO tasks including a Google Adwords campaign and setting up The Edinburgh Wedding Company Facebook and Twitter pages. I have also installed the Google Base (Froogle) Feeder and Ultimate SEO URLs plugins.
Over the next few months the following half page and quarter page adverts will be appearing in a range of national wedding magazines. These include the Scottish Wedding Directory and The Best Scottish Wedding Magazine which cover the whole of Scotland. The adverts will also feature in the Belle Bridal Magazine which covers North East England up to the Scottish Borders and Dream Weddings Magazine covering Devon and Cornwall. The magazines are seen by well over 160,000 people.

We recently commissioned an e-commerce site to be built by a national web design company. On assignment of our project manager it became apparent that the company’s web designers were based in India. We experienced countless problems with our designers; they did not fully understand our requirements and did not have the necessary skills to complete our e-commerce site. In order to address problems we contacted Paul at Retro Edge Web Design. Paul undertook work amending Zen Cart settings, amending coding problems, resizing images. Paul even produced screenshots with instructions that we sent out to our website project manager in India to resolve website alignment problems. Paul has also assisted us with online marketing and integrating SEO modules.
From the very first phone call Paul has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is friendly, approachable and extremely professional. Paul has totally bowled me over with his extensive web design knowledge. I have gained excellent ongoing advice from Paul to overcome major problems we experienced with our original web design company. Paul lives and breathes web design and it’s clear that he loves what he does; this really shows in his work. I can firmly say that it has only been down to Paul’s assistance that we have achieved the completion of our e-commerce website. Paul’s customer service is nothing short of perfection; he is always available via e-mail, on the phone, and in person; he always goes that extra mile. I only wish that I had contacted Paul in first instance. I will certainly be looking to work with Retro Edge Web Design in the near future on future projects. I can not recommend Retro Edge Web Design highly enough.
The following testimonial is courtesy of Adrian Rodwell….
I found Retro Edge Web Design after browsing through countless designers websites and ready made e-commerce sites The first thing that impressed me was how much effort Paul had put into the design of his own business website , this practice was something that was very rare on my search for a web designer.
When I first contacted Paul about designing the site, he had yet to design the Nappilicious and Frosts e-commerce sites, but even at that stage I had no doubt that the Headstart Hats website would be in safe hands and well within his capabilities. My main objectives were to get a functioning, easy to navigate website that stood out from the crowd, and not look like another templated e-commerce site. As Pauls portfolio shows, all his designs are completely different, so I knew I would end up with a functional website that was completely unique.
As Paul is based in Plymouth, and I’m based in Newmarket, I thought the 300 mile gap would create an obstacle to the process, but I decided I’d rather have a web designer who’s based miles away but knows exactly what I want, rather than one down the road who didn’t. This didn’t prove to be a problem, In the end the whole website was produced with ease purely by communicating by email.
Throughout the process, Paul kept me well informed of ideas, changes and all other aspects of his work on the site, I would have no hesitation in recommending the services of Retro Edge Web Design, and Paul has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, and I would like to thank him for all his hard work.

Headstart Hats is a online Hat Shop specialising in classic headwear for Ladies and Gents. Designed over a two month period this is an excellent example of what can be achieved using the Zen Cart e-commerce solution.
Several additional modules have been added to the basic Zen Cart install package including Google Base (Froogle) Feeder. The site also make use of a jQuery slider which displays a number of the sites products.

Frosts are a Devon based manufacturer of rosettes, trophies, promotional sashes, hen party sashes, stag night t-shirts & funny t-shirts. Established in 1970 they have proudly completed work for a huge variety of companies and well known faces.
I have been working on the new e-commerce solution for Frosts since early January after being approached to revamp their existing web site. We agreed to use Zen Cart, which would give Frosts the scope to increase their ever expanding catalogue of products as well as showcasing their impressive portfolio of work.
For the design of the site it was agreed to create a bright and colourful design to reflect the array of colours available in Frosts rosettes and sashes. Frosts wanted a British look to the site with a county fair feel, this was created with the use of various images including rosettes, ribbons, Union Jacks and the Frosts duck mascot.
The site was successfully relaunched on 7th April 2010 and has so far been met with much enthusiasm from the Frosts loyal customer base.
