I’m currently designing an exciting new e-commerce web site, www.liquoriceworld.com. The site is still in development but will be online in the near future. I’ve really enjoyed building the site as it as a retro look that’s been a lot of fun to design and retro works fantastically well with the products on the site.

Liquorice World visit a number of festivals around the country every year, whilst at the Oceanfest earlier this month Emily Fisher of www.fisheedesigns.co.uk took a number of awesome vintage photos for some of the products soon to appear on www.liquoriceworld.com. I’m so impressed by these I just had to put them on my blog.

Project Overview

Clive Sleeman Photography is a WordPress web site making use of the WP-ecommerce plugin.

Clive became a professional digital photographer in 2008, due to his love of Cornwall and the South West. He concentrates his efforts on inspirational coastal scenes, landscapes, wildlife and all things dramatic in the counties, but his real passion is artistic photography. He also enjoys working and taking photos of pets and children, spending time with the subjects to capture natural, rather than posed, images.

The initial project brief entailed not only creating a site that could showcase Clive’s work but one that would allow his many customers the chance to purchase photography direct from the site. When designing the site I have tried to keep the focus on the photography, keeping the photos large wherever possible, but not so large they cause the site to load slowly and hinder the user experience.

I have spent the last few days revamping one of the existing sites on my portfolio, Kimberley Burroughs portfolio site; Cutting Edge Hair Design.

Although the old site suited a purpose it became obvious that as Kim’s portfolio was growing and growing she needed a site that allowed her to upload new photos with ease. As I have been using WordPress a lot lately this seemed a good option as Kim could update all her own content; this includes a new blog section and gallery feature where new photos and galleries can be added from a main admin console.

As is standard with any WordPress install users can log in and make comments on the sites posts and galleries. Although the site is not 100% complete, the bulk of the work is done so why not check it out and leave some feedback.

Through their web site J & S Photography, Jane and Stephen offer an expert wedding photography service throughout Plymouth and its surrounding areas. Steve, having recently discovered the delights of WordPress when designing his portfolio site at Prior Creative, decided converting the current html site into WordPress would make updating the site much easier. The original J&S Photography web site had been online for some time without much new content being added, the shift to WordPress will allow Jane and Steve to incorporate a news page and upload and remove photos with ease.
