The WordPress e-commerce option provides a shopping cart facility for your site, allowing you to sell products online. This is fully integrated with Paypal, although there are other payment gateways available. The WordPress e-commerce option is a good choice if your are planning a small online store with a simple buy it now set up. For larger and more complex stores see the LemonStand option below.

LemonStand e-commerce provides all the whistles and bells you would expect to see on a e-commerce store. The admin interface is very easy to use so adding your own categories and products to your store is a breeze. The options range from the ability to add discounts to products, discount codes, minimum order values, assign additional attributes to products (i.e. personalised text for t-shirt web sites) and the list goes on and on. This is definitely your option if your are planning a permanent online presence, LemonStand offers scalability you won’t get with other e-commerce solutions, if you need to change your site design in two years time you won’t have to redesign the whole site to do it.
